Blueprint for Leadership

What is Blueprint for Leadership?

Blueprint for Leadership is a new way to learn and sharpen leadership skills. It includes food and fun, toys and trials. The atmosphere is creative and innovative. The workshops are interactive and involve both laughter and introspection.

Blueprint for Leadership was developed to expand leadership throughout our community. Leadership is not just for those in our business offices. Leadership is needed in our homes, schools, churches, and neighborhoods. The program is open to everyone.

Encouraging more people to become leaders will increase our community’s ability to respond to current and future needs. A new, more diverse, group of leaders will initiate projects and create opportunities for our community to thrive and move forward into the 21st century.

Participants will come together five times in approximately one month. Think of it as “a month of Wednesdays or a month of Thursdays + one”! Each gathering is about 4 ½ hours. The unique format allows the course to be offered at a variety of times. In order to make the course available to everyone who wants to learn leadership skills, sometimes it will be offered over four mornings, sometimes four afternoons, and sometimes four evenings.

Connect
Blueprint for Leadership will teach participants how to connect with others in the community- other individuals, other organizations, other leaders.

Create
As a part of the course work, each class will create a project benefiting children and youth in our community. Grant funds are available to the class to make the project happen.

Collaborate
Blueprint for Leadership will bring together participants from throughout the community to work toward a common goal- building a better community!

Chaos
This is not your ordinary leadership course. The course includes very little sit and listen time- everything is taught through activity, experience and discussion. It’s not really chaos, but it is interactive and fun!

Communicate
Individuals that complete the course will be invited to communicate all they have learned by getting more involved in the community, or by providing stronger leadership in the activities in which they are already involved

Blueprint for Leadership is a program offered by the Greater Salina Community Foundation. Creating more effective leaders helps the Foundation achieve our mission of improving quality of life.

The Foundation is grateful for the support of the Kansas Health Foundation, whose research, training, and funding of leadership programs throughout the state is making Kansas the best place to live and raise a child.
