Women Helping Women does not wish to overlap services with other agencies. To ensure that our assistance is provided appropriately, all applications to Women Helping Women must be submitted through one of our partner agences. These partnerships help applicants determine the best place to seek help and if appropriate, can assist them in applying for help from the Women Helping Women Fund.

Our Partner Agencies include:

Catholic Charities
Child Advocacy and Parenting Services (CAPS)
Domestic Violence Association of Central Kansas (DVACK)
Emergency Aid Food Bank
Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS)

Procedure for our Partner Agencies:

• Partner agencies must attend a training session offered by Women Helping Women.

• Agencies will identify a woman who meets the criteria for assistance (low income, etc...), but who does not meet criteria for existing programs and needs one-time assistance.

• Agencies assist the women in filling out the application, estimating the amount of money needed (not to exceed $500).

• Agencies direct the woman needing assistance to get an estimate of the expense from an authorized vendor (those who are licensed to provide sales and/or services in the City of Salina).

• Agencies forward the completed application to Women Helping Women

• If approved, Women Helping Women will contact the vendor to explain the program, discuss a price (possibly negotiated), and instruct the vendor where to send the bill.

• Women Helping Women will contact the agency with the decision, and then the Agencies will contact the woman needing assistance. The woman needing assistance will be told that the vendor has been notified and a payment will be made.

• Agencies will not give out Women Helping Women contact information to applicants for any reason.

• Due to limited funding, women may apply for assitance only one time per year.
